God is in Charge!! – James 1:6-8

James 1:6-8: But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.  For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;  he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Yesterday the Bible page I founded on Facebook experienced a massive co-ordinated attack with deeply offensive material posted on the wall, ranging from pornography, extreme blasphemy, personal attacks and threats of violence.  At one stage the attackers, in response to someone disagreeing with their warped view, posted the persons home address on the wall, in an act of extreme intimidation.  And then they began a personal attack on me.  They started posting offensive material on my personal page, and began a smear campaign, claiming I was a convicted rapist.

Apparently a man by the name of Mark Brown in the US was convicted of rape back in 2008, and they were suggesting that I was the same Mark Brown.  It was a flimsy ploy as none of the basic details lined up!  A quick piece of investigation would reveal that I have never lived in the US, and I have never been a school principal.  It was a clear attempt to undermine and discredit myself and plant seeds of uncertainty within the Bible page community.

My initial reaction was to start deleting and reporting to Facebook, and then I enlisted help with a number of others tasked to do the same.  And as I realised the scale of the attack, I closed the wall down, stopping all posts.

I was quite disturbed by this experience, and it showed as one of my staff later in the day came up to me brandishing a gift to comfort me, saying that I seemed ‘flat’.  In the James reading I read that I need faith to have wisdom: to be a doer of the Word, not just a reader. And faith is a firm conviction, an assurance in God and Christ.  It is knowing that God is in charge, even when things are very stressful and disturbing.  The opposite of faith is doubting, which James says is like being tossed around by the wind, like a wave in the sea.  The greek behind doubting is to be in dispute, to be separate.  So if faith is knowing that God is in charge, doubting is forgetting or ignoring this fact.  Faith is recognising that I am connected to God, doubting is being disconnected, separate from God.  As the attacks happened on the Bible page and my personal page, I realise two things:

I am connected with God, I have faith in God and everything is ok – God is in charge!

These people attacking my pages are not connected with God.  They will not receive anything from the Lord; they are double-minded, and unstable in all their ways.  But I want them to be connected, to have faith.  And for that reason I invite your prayers for them, and if they are reading this, I invite there contact and questions about being connected to God via my page below.

Yes God is in charge!!

    I do pray for them. A lost soul is well….sad. Everyone strikes out at something they don’t understand, don’t agree with, or in this case causes them to reflect on their own shortcomings. Our job as Christians is to forgive and pray for them. The Bible says these things will happen. Thank you so much for your page, I read it every time I open facebook.

  4. Keep the faith, Brother. You have prayer warriors around the world lifting you and your ministry up before the Lord.
    The verses just before (James 1:2,3) says to count it all joy when you are being tried. Your faith is being stretched, but the enemy will not see the results he desired – this trial will only make you stronger and the Word will continue to go out to all the world.

  5. I don’t know that I could keep as cool as you did. But things like this remind me we live in a fallen world and Satin is still using every trick and lie he can. Hard for me to pray for the perpetrator(s), all the more I know I must. When the Lord crushes Satin as we know He does, miracles happen. Reminds me of Saul of Tarsus. It is the sin and the source of sin I must hate, and love the sinner. (man that is hard sometimes).

    This is weird I was just looking at my Facebook page last night wondering if I had somehow deleted your Bible page from my feed. Then this email came explaining it all. Listen, Mr. Brown, do not let these “double-minded, unstable” people intimidate you from reaching your Bible page goal. Therefore, get back on the horse, get your Facebook page up, and start communicating the word of God to us right now!!

    • I agree 100% with Tracy. Get back on the horse. Another friend I met on FB recently posted some heart ache about personal persecution she was suffering. The evil is out there and it’s everywhere because these are the last days and things like this are going to increase. People need strong pastors/teachers/leaders to “get back on that horse” for the rest of us.

      Please take heart in knowing there are those of us who look forward to your postings. I just discovered this site because of your post. I feel blessed to participate. I have had similar experiences but that was before FaceBook, before Internet and before every family had computer access. It is difficult to bear but remember that God does not send us out into the storm without Him.

      blessed are you when you are persecuted! rejoice and be exceeding glad for so they persecuted the prophets before you.
      Persecution happens because you are effectively working for the spreading of the kingdom. The devil and his minions do not like it. Keep up the good work and rejoice that this is happening!

    We are with you all the way Mark! I do pray and will continue to pray for you every day! It’s horrible what they did but I’m sure this isn’t the last time they will try it. That said, I have no doubt God will provide a way. There is no doubt you are doing what you were called to do and God will work it out, he will!! You are sharing a wonderful message straight from your heart and you are doing something that very few out there are, you are listening to the holy spirit and KNOW IT!!! You are not taking the credit for it and I for one LOVE that, it is an AWESOME thing. There are so many people that don’t realize what God/Jesus has given each and every one of us and it is a POWERFUL thing!

    I truly feel God can and will turn what happened yesterday into something greater than you or any of us could imagine. I don’t know, maybe he won’t but I’ve seen God do that over and over…just when you think “why?” if you just have faith and beleive, he will show you…he will show all of us and you will tell us about it 🙂

    Keep that faith, I will pray for your paitence/ knowledge and that he will see fit to will show you.

    The LORD says that he has to honor faith. He cannot tell a lie. Therefore if you have positive faith he will honor it and he will do the same thing for negative faith.     Rev Mark don’t be discourage, these people attacking you proves you are doing GODs work, spreading his word. We who believe study his word to be approved. You are speaking and teaching his word which is truth. I thank GOD for you because your teaching is re-enforcing my understanding of his word and strengthening my faith in Our Father.     I am not a big football fan, but consider some of the hateful, venomous things people have been saying on-line and in the media about Tim Tebow of the Florida Gators. It’s only going to get worse as the time of the Lord’s return draws near.

    I am sorry that these attacks caused you to have to shut down your page. (I recently became one of your “fans”.) Here is what I do know: God has never given any of us any more than we can bear and that the enemy’s job is to steal, kill and destroy. The enemy wants to keep you from doing God’s work by sending whatever distractions and using whomever he can. Just know that he has to have God’s permission to do anything, so God must already know that He was going to receive the glory from your work. Stay encouraged and have a wonderfully blessed day.

    All it takes is faith the size of a mustard seed, I pray these people find this seed and plant it deep down within themselves!! It hurts to see someone purposefully disconnecting themselves from the best Farther ever! I hope they realize how much pain they are causing themselves, but Mark don’t let their sin discourage you, you are doing GOD’S will and it shows that the devil is now attacking you!!     You go Mark. James 1:2-4 Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come to you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.

    As the Bible says to count it all joy when things like this happen, remember for whom you are suffering these attacks of Satan. Know the only reason you are under attack is because you are being obedient and are a threat to Satan’s cause. I know you understand this but I just wanted to agree in Christian fellowship!! You are in my prayers!! May God bless and rain down favor on you as never before!! Stand fast and unmoveable as He commands!!!
    The God we serve turns all kinds of mayhem into blessings for His glory. Now should be no different. I Praise Him for the peace He has already bestowed upon you in the midst of this attack! But even more I praise Him for how much He will use this attack for His glory and once again Satan’s attempts at distruction and death will have failed!!!!

    Hi Mark. I am slightly disturbed that such a degree of evil was put upon you and others, but for the most part… I am DELIIGHTED at how quickly you were able to turn it around!! That was The Holy Spirit in you taking care of Business!! Yeah!! I love it!! I plead the blood over you and all who were also affected negatively by this experience. We will have NO fear!!     I read your page daily and and receive updates on my facebook page… I totally agree with you. You have to be connected to God to understand that Faith is all you need, and yes many people are fearful of such a conviction. I say stand firm and keep your suit of armor on.

    Ephesians 6:10&11 “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God , so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”

    Stay firm and yes, I will continue to pray for those who are still search.

    I am surprised that people would go so far as to launch an attack on your websites. If they don’t believe in God, why even bother to go there in the first place? Before I found Christ, I would have simply ignored something like your website, but I wouldn’t have done anything to attack it because I simply didn’t care.

    The fact that they are so against it tells me that somewhere, deep inside, the message is REACHING them. I pray that they realize that they are being used by the evil one and that it is keeping them from connecting with their beloved Father, the only one who can ever make them feel whole and completely loved. I pray that they find a way to connect with others that is not filled with hatred, but loving, and that they feel loved in return.

    I have also learnt that the Devil doesn’t bother with things that isn’t a threat to him. If you are on his side he will leave you alone and sometimes even make you prosper cause lets face it he is mighty and knows where our weaknessses lie. It is only when we move close to God and His will that the Devil gets worried and starts plotting his evil plans. We should therefore rejoice in these attacks as it PROVES that we are on the right track and that he feels threatened. If we don’t get any resistance it means he is happy with the way things are going. I thank God for your work. I have often read the filth and lies and rubbish on FB and thought maybe I should quit this evil thing but then I read about people not being afraid to proclaim their faith, I read daily messages from God like your page and others and I think why not use this for good? Why not use the technology that God inspired through man to fight the Devil. People (my dad did) for instrance often battle with the fact that it is said that ALL people will see Him return at the same time. How is it possible for all to see it at once? Who said God didn’t inspire technology for that exact reason that the world becomes smaller and we can all see God’s glory at once? Please don’t be threatened or put off. Keep on doing what your doing. You are reaching people all over the world like this sinfull but Christian hopefull in SA. God Bless you and your work.     Do not let Satan and his minions that attacked you make you stop what you are doing. Those of us that believe in God, also believe in you. The narrow-minded people doing this will be punished by Him, and I pray that they will change their ways and ask Jesus Christ to be their personal savior.     I will pray for you and also the persons that are evidently under conviction by reading your posts on the Bible page. If they were not being convicted of their evil ways, it wouldn’t bother them so much. Please continue the page on facebook. Your page is one of the reasons I am still active on my facebook page. I will only post things on my page that glorifies God, or things that encourage others. Your page encourages me & thank you for that!
    Removing the Bible page is exactly what Satan would want you to do.

If anything it should be reason to rejoice,because it means satan is afraid of what God will acomplish through you. otherwise he would leave you alone. And yes praise God for He is in charge. I know because I have to rely on God for every breath I take. If not for God I would not be breathing. I will pray for those responsible for this attack against God, yes, against God , because in attacking one of His faithful servants they are attacking God Himself. I pray that their eyes and hrarts be opened wide to receive from God all that He has to offer them. I know that He will welcome them into His family with open arms just as He welcomed me.

    I am so very sorry to hear that you have been hurt by the ridiculous words and actions of others. As have so many, we who follow the word of God do not for one moment, believe these scoundrels who try to diminish The Word. Please remember that they must certainly be threatened by you or they’d be spending their time brandishing ill untruths at someone else. I’d have to say this indicates that they are not only paying attention to you … but they know that thousands of others are as well. And, that seems to make them pretty nervous!     I was saddened and at the same time upset to hear such behavior of individuals we all live amongst. Im very blessed to have comfort online with Rev. Browns website, as we all know that the internet can be a hellish nightmare, it brings me joy to study the word of your Savior here, and spread the gospel!….Thank you ever so much Marc, you are truly a man of God!….This incident brang me to the story of Jonah, as sometimes it is hard for me to pray for indidviduals as this, and it makes me upset, this story puts into perspective for me always!

    I normally do not do these kind of things. I know, being a pastor, you have a lot to read, but I felt I need to encourage you to hang in there also. I was preaching this past Sunday about how if you are not running into the Devil, then you are running with him. I think you ran smack-dab into Satan on the internet. I have many devotions that I read, and some I don’t for the sake of time, but yours is one I look forward to. I would like to encourage you with some scripture that always helps me when I am in a situation such as this.
    1Ti 6:12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

I’ve even had people that consider themselves Christians join my J+E+S+U+S page and say I was posting too many versus with “Jesus” as the keyword. Keep the faith, hold onto hope, and celebrate his love.

    You are a soldier my brother fighting the good fight of faith daily to bring Encouragement to the Body of Christ. They lied on Jesus and they are going to lie on you.You have paid a price to bring this gospel to a dying world. Jesus paid the ultimate price He died for us so we could live. When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord lifts up a standard. God counted you worthy to identify with the sufferings of Christ.He was hated and so will you be. Blessed are they that are persecuted for righteousness sake for their reward is in heaven. The closer you come to Him the more Jesus shows you His glory. Vengeance is mine saith the ord what’s right I will pay! He will fight this battle for you! Rejoice in all of this!

    I once had a horrific experience with My Space, so disturbing that I couldn’t even look at it. I had to call on other to get rid of it and get me off of there. I can understand how unsettling it can be. We are at war, a spiritual warfare. As Sam said above Satan attack with much force those such as you that are reaching others and doing God’s work. In a cyberspace so full of ugly horrible things, it is truly a blessing to see a site like yours that one can go to for comfort, knowledge and fellowship with other believers to share and encourage. You are in my prayers as are also those that attack you. It makes my heart ache that they do not really know what they are doing. I do pray they turn around and as God for forgiveness before being thrown in the eternal fires of hell.

    This is spiritual warfare. It happens when we go in the right direction in sharing the good news. Pray for the people who did it as hard as that is, that their hearts may be charged, and do trust God. “I can do all things in God who strengthens me”…even face the enemy

  59. Take heart Mark the Body of Christ is here on this page. We will flex the muscles of the Holy Spirit and drive this hatred to obscurity.

    God will never allow us to be complacent and this is a wake up call to all who strive to share God’s love, as we need Him and each other. we need not to network but the network of souls whom sit typing away.

    We need to pray and uphold each other. You are prayed for even though geographically I am so far away from you.

    On a practical note, can you perhaps change your forum to a moderated forum? So that someone has to approve the comments before they are visible? Or is your volume way too high for that?

Only He knows what’s happening in their hearts, or what caused them to be the way they are. I think they must have suffered badly to have so little faith.     God bless you Rev. Mark, when I noticed the foolishness yesterday. My first response was one of being upset, then I realized the enemy is doing just what he is suppose to do. To try to dis-credited ( kill steal & destroy) the works of the Lord. We are told to pick up our cross & fellow Jesus. Rev. Mark don’t get discourage you doing a wonderful work, there will be many who will come to know Jesus through your website. You are VICTORIOUS! You are a threat to the enemy or attacks would have never come ( I’m sure you know that). There are those who depend on your words continue knowing many you may never know are praying with & for you.     As it says in psalm 34vs19 that many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord will deliver them out of them all.. So be encouraged for no weapon formed against you shall prosper and every tongue that riseth against you shall be condemned..     it is the Christmas season and our new church calender year as well as Advent.
    I realize people can get pretty nasty when it comes to religion, faith and the bible, take heart and stand tall God will never forsake you for your God given chosen purpose to serve the Lord.
    It is comforting to know however with the wonderful world of science, evolution and technolgy that those ugly and hurtful judgements accusitions , assumption, filthy language prejudice and sinful hate crime attacks on you
    and on our Holy Bible can be easily traced and monitored for our futher protection.

    1. Don’t worry (fret) about the wicked.
    Don’t envy those who do wrong.
    2 For like grass, they will soon fade away.

    3. Trust in the Lord and do good.
    Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.
    4. Take delight in the Lord,
    and He will give you your heart’s desires.

    5. Commit everything you do to the Lord.
    Trust him, and He will help you.

    and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun.

  84. Can I suggest another way of looking at this? I’m a 52 year old Christian, a child of missionary parents and an ex-missionary myself, and someone who’s seen Christianity at work in 4 continents over at least 40 years of walking with God.

    Dear brother, this isn’t meant as an attack, but having read some of your postings I feel they don’t fully represent the Bible, nor the wisdom of God.

    As I say, this isn’t meant as an attack. It’s an attempt to ask you to try to look at things from a different angle. A lot of what I’ve read in your postings comes from what can be called the school of ‘Triumphalist Theology, and from the school of Join-the-Dots theology. What do I mean by that?

    Triumphalist Theology is a theology which always has to have an upbeat, ‘God’s in charge’, “they’re wrong an we’re right”, answer to every problem. You see Triumphalist Theology at work amongst Muslims when they chant Allah Akbar… God is great! As if saying that solves every problem.

    Join-the-Dots theology is a theology which tries to answer every problem by quoting Bible verses. It can’t see that there are millions of issues which the Bible doesn’t speak about. And it can’t see that there are many issues which the Bible does speak about, but with words addressed to a society vastly different to ours today.

    Both theologies are very rife within evangelical circles, and they both have a strong tendency to ‘big up’ positive Bible verses while ‘playing down’ what they see as more negative Scriptures. But if we don’t understand the full – yes the FULL – balance of Scripture we always end being in error in some way.

    The book of Ecclesiastes is the best example I can think of to illustrate what I’m saying. I believe God put the book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible to show us that things are not all rosy and upbeat. When Solomon wrote “meaningless, meaningless, everything is meaningless” he wasn’t just writing nonsense. We can’t dismiss his words just because we don’t like them. God gave Solomon the gift of wisdom… that’s was made clear at the start of his reign… so if we dismiss his words we are dismissing God Himself.

    So what did Solomon mean by those words? Well, it’s not rocket science. In many ways, compared to God and compared to what’s going on in heaven, we are not much more than ants crawling around in the dust. Life here on earth is like life in the womb, compared to the adult life that’s going on ‘up’ there. This life is just a preparation for the next one, so if we take ourselves too seriously in this life we’re missing the point of it.

    Most times – especially in the Church – we think we’re something special, and that we’re doing something special… “for God”! But the reality is we aren’t special at all. God could use someone else – or something else – to do everything that we do.

    In his song about Balaam’s donkey, Don Francisco wrote, “When God starts using you, don’t take it to mind… He could have used the dog next door if He’d been so inclined!” One of the greatest and godliest character traits is humility, but sadly it’s one of the character traits most missing in the Church.

    Solomon wrote: “A man can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in his work. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment?” (Eccl 2:23-25) Sometimes we just need to chill out, kick back, and stop trying to BE something special for God. We’re special anyway, just because God loves us, regardless of what we do!

    Triumphalist theology gets upset at every setback and says that it’s all the attack of Satan. Realistic theology says, “What can I learn from this? What is God trying to teach me?”

    Join-the-dots theology always wants to find a Scripture for every problem. But that’s like putting a few wee sticking plasters over a mortal wound. Join-the-dots theology takes a bunch of Scriptures and joins them up and says, “Look at what a great picture I’ve made?”

    But God takes that ‘join-the-dots’ picture and shakes His head sadly as He compares it to His master painting… the master painting which is His FULL wisdom as revealed in the WHOLE of the Bible… and as revealed in the writings of the saints down through the ages… and as revealed in the amazing universe which He has made… and as revealed in the Spirit filled human heart.

    The ONLY way to get away from triumphalist thinking, and from Join-the-dots thinking, is to start LISTENING to people… yes to people… and to start listening with both ears as well. Sadly what Christians do so much of the time is to half-listen while their minds are rapidly creating a join-the-dots picture, ready to splurge it out when the speaking stops.

    What we need are not these immature ways of thinking – these immature theologies. What we need is a realistic mind set which recognises that sometimes we do and say things that rub people up the wrong way. And we do that because we’re not actually listening to what they’re saying.

    If we don’t listen to people’s very real and genuine concerns and needs, then we will actually deserve their attacks. God – yes God – often sends setbacks our way to make us stop and take stock. He send them to try to force us to see where we’re going wrong. Unless we become a genuine listener, and unless we put our triumphalist thinking, and our join-the-dots thinking, behind us we will always remain immature in our faith.

    God bless you brother, and I trust that you will learn the lessons that God wants to teach you through these circumstances.

    Remember Jesus told us himself that he came to save the unsaved. Even though, those that know God need our prayers, the ones that do not know God need our prayers even more. They are the ones under attack by the evil one and they have no defense because they do not know our Blessed Savior. I was not saved until almost 30 and I remember the fear and uncertainty and worthlessnessand self disgust they must be feeling. I remember the hell God saved me from. My prayers go out to them because I know how much they are in agony and need God. I believe Mark is extremely strong in his faith and he is wrapped in God’s love. Please don’t let these people continue in bondage without a fight.

If you are a believer in Jesus Christ and one of His followers in which you’ve picked up your cross in this world, you will be attacked in full force, not sometime, or whenever the urge strikes Satan’s followers, but immediately and with a vengeance anytime you stand up for Christ in this world and attempt to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. Jesus said that the world will hate all that follow Him, because the world first hated Him. Attacks are going to come, and we who believe and have built a personal relationship with Christ must never give up; persevere through those attacks, and stay in the fight for the human mind and soul that no one will be lost in this world come the judgment.

    Don’t give up, Mark, and all Christians out there who have chosen of their own God-given freewill to pick up their cross and follow Jesus. Giving up is exactly what the enemy wants us all to do so they can gloat and have their way in the world of immorality and evil.

    Stay in the fight and keep the journey going even deeper into God’s word through it all, always trusting and believing JESUS IS LORD AND KING; the Author of our salvation; our Redeemer, Savior, and Friend.

I too, although I was fortunate to not view the explicits, must add that the harvest is ripe and laborers few, but u have clearly chosen to go into the field and work. I know, how it is to be attacked because of our stance on The Rock, however, the ones closest to me were the mediums the enemy used to defeat me in this battle, but the war still rages. So, I will pray for your continued strength from Our God, and I ask that the corporate body of Christ do likewise and for me also.

    I’m sorry to hear about the accusations and the material brought against you and the site. I access this site through facebook and as a college student who is surrounded by many temptations and dipped in a wayward pool, you must know that your site is a blessing to me when I see the verses posted on my wall.

    I am not perfect and I don’t claim to be. I fall alot and know I let down God many times. It’s not hard for me to believe in God. I know He exists because He saved my life many times and will continue to. Yet it seems the hardest to hand control over to Him when we like to view ourselves as so independent. So thank you for the reminder that He indeed is in control!

    When things such as the accusations and material that was posted arise in my life, perhaps in different forms, I view it as a tactic and weapon of the enemy. The Bible says, “No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their vindication is from Me,” declares the LORD.” Isaiah 54:17

    I want you and all others to take comfort during this time and I will pray for those who oppose you. Remember that David feared going against Saul because he would not lay his hand on the anointed of God. He feared what God would do and it is you who are anointed of God. Romans 12:19 stated that God said, “Vengeance is Mine. I shall repay.”

    And remember that any obstacle that comes against you must first be asked of God. Take comfort and strength in this. Refer to Job and how Satan had to go to God in order to afflict Job. Therefore, you are never out of God’s hands.

    Thanks for the blessing of your site and I praise God for putting its construction on your heart. I Plead the Blood of Jesus over you and in all that you touch, that your hands may be strengthened as Nehemiahs had been.

We do know that Satan is trying to get in his last licks, but we rejoice that Jesus will be coming soon whether it is in my lifetime or not – considering God’s timing, it could be today or it could be a while yet. GOD’S PERFECT PLAN IN ACTION…A MAN SAW A BUTTERFLY STRUGGELING TO FREE HIMSELF FROM HIS COCOON. THE BUTTERFLY LOOKED LIKE HE JUST COULDN’T SHED THE COCOON. THE MAN HELPED THE BUTTERFLY BY PULLING AWAY PART OF THE COCOON…THE BUTTERFLY EMERGED SWOLLEN & WINGS SHRIVELED. THE MAN WATCHED PATIENTLY JUST KNOWING THAT THE BUTTERFLY WOULD SOON SPREAD HIS WINGS & FLY, IT NEVER HAPPENED, THE BUTTERFLY WAS NEVER ABLE TO FLY.     This the very thing that the Lord wants you to do, you are a child of the most high and as a result you have the authority under the power of the spirit of God. In the next verse he says “For I am with you, and no man shall assault you to harm you” so just as you said you have to trust in the Lord and know that he will do what he said he will do.     It is good to see you recognize that God IS in control. It is so easy for a Christian despite the depth of faith, to have lip service saying that God is in control. It is when one goes through the fire can one truly be able to say this with certainty. When I went through the fire, I at times was not able to say with certainty that God was in control because I let circumstantial causes of great pain, to take my eyes off of God. When we are hit with serious blows when we are not prepared can be devestating.

    I understand that you were not at all prepared, therefore, your guard was down. Now you will be able to use this experience to even further the work God has for you. Your weak area of being unguarded will no longer be weak. He will be your defense, your strength and He will enable you to guard your heart (wellspring of life).

    I believe those who attack Disciples of Christ take the time to do so because they actually fear that all that we believe and claim regarding the supremacy & sovereignty of God, the divinity of Jesus Christ, and the powerfulness of the Holy Spirit might actually be true (which we already know is true). They are rejecting and fearing the possibility that we who believe might be right and that would also mean they have a very serious choice to make regarding the sin in their life and where they want to spend eternity… Many do not want to have to make that choice.

    If they gave no merit to Christianity – I believe they would just laugh it off and not waste any of their time retaliating against those who attempt to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with others. Something deep inside of them is stirred by being confronted by the truth – and that will cause them to be a seeker – even if it comes out in a very hostile way. We most definitely need to be praying for all who will take the time to enter into conversation with us about our faith – regardless of how unproductive the conversation seems to go sometimes.

    Mark et.al. Here is my prayer.
    Dear Lord, I thank you for this day. I thank You for my being able to see and to hear this morning. I’m blessed because You are a forgiving God and an understanding God. You have done so much for me and You keep on blessing me. Forgive me this day for everything I have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to you. I ask now for Your forgiveness..

    Please keep me safe from all danger and harm. Help me to start this day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude. Let me make the best of each day to clear my mind so that I can hear from You.

    Let me not complain, whine and whimper over things I have no control over. Let me continue to see sin through God’s eyes and acknowledge it as evil. And when I sin, let me repent, and confess with my mouth my wrongdoing, and receive the forgiveness of God.

    And when this world closes in on me, let me remember Jesus’ example — to slip away and find a quiet place to pray. It’s the best response when I’m pushed beyond my limits. I know that when I can’t pray, You listen to my heart. Continue to use me to do Your will.

    Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others. Keep me strong that I may help the weak. Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others. I pray for those who are lost and can’t find their way. I pray for those who are misjudged and misunderstood. I pray for those who don’t know You intimately. I pray for those who don’t believe. But I thank you that I believe.

    I believe that God changes people and God changes things. I pray for all my sisters and brothers. For every family member in their households. I pray for peace, love and joy in their homes that they are out of debt and all their needs are met.

    I pray that every eye that reads this knows there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than God. Every battle is in Your hands for You to fight . I pray that these words be received into the hearts of every eye that sees them and every mouth that confesses them willingly..

    This is my prayer.

    I thank God Almighty for the Army of Love that he has brought together in this Website. It must really hurt to be attacked the way you were,but know that if you was’nt doing the work that God called you to, the Evil one wouldn’t be bothering you. So in the name of JESUS we will all rebuke any thing that is not of God to leave this site. God is in control here and he gives us the authority to spread the good news to all. I feel so blessed to be a part of this group of people who have the conviction in thier hearts knowing that we serve the one who has all the power, JESUS CHRIST. We , believers of Christ can rejoice for he has won the Victory when he layed down his life for all on the Cross. All Power, Honor and Glory are yours, JESUS. AMEN

    I agree with all of the above posts!! Lucifer does not bother with people whom he is satisfied in. That is why, when we feel threatened with attacks, we should actually feel great, because then we know we are a disturbance to him, and that we are drawing ever so nearer to God!!

    Thank you for your daily messages Rev, and may our heavenly Father send his angels to keep watch over you, so that you may prosper in everything that you do!!

    Please forgive them for they know not what they do. They are not evil.

    All anger comes from deep pain within, and those souls are suffering greatly, they can only express their pain in wounding hurting words, as they want to hurt others, revenge from somebody because they are hurting too.

    This has been my experience, growing up as a christian, with a deep sense of being bad (Family dynamics). feeling excluded from the church, feeling not good enough for God and feeling a deep sense of rejection of all things spiritual. As a teenager, after abuse from my parents, sitting in the dark weeping, trembling in fear of another attack, praying to God to help me, help never came from anywhere. How deeply I felt rejected by God. How could God not help me? I must be really bad, I thought, if God does not listen. I began to feel that I must be evil, I was already in hell and doomed to hell forever. For what did I deserve this?

    Because I felt evil, I was angry at those who were accepted by God and said they were “walking with Him”, what did I do to deserve this rejection, I thought how cruel is this, that I want deeply to be a good person but I am compelled to be bad. Then it came to me that God does not exist and these Christians are all deluding them selves. Anger rose within me that all these people had convinced themselves and were arrogantly parading their faith in nothing at all, I thought how dumb are these misguided people? Surely I am the one who knows what God is more than any of them.

    It took years and years to realise that I was wrong in my thinking, but reading this thread reminded me of the past, how Christians can be arrogant in their faith, that they are saved and it is the world that is evil and we are against them, we are so quick to judge others without wanting to find out what the problem is. We have been told that others will attack us so we defend ourselves with chapter and verse as if we are some how the chosen few. That because we are being attacked that we can confirm that Jesus is within us. Never forget that it could be quite the opposite.

    Surely, it is compassion that is required, it is love that wins, acceptance of others and the pain that they carry, we are in a deeply hurt and scarred world, it matters not that we are attacked, nothing at all matters. Our task is that we look at ourselves carefully and do what we can to become the person that God wants us to be, what others do is not for us to judge. Let us be humans that don’t hide our humanity behind the word of God.

    Mark, you have to stand & do what God calls you to do. Please, there are so many who benefit from your website. Remember Luke 10:19 says “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” The enemy is just up to his tactics to stop you doing God’s work. You know God gave this for you to do. How would you feel if you quit? How would you feel if you gave in the the devil? When we are doing God’s work, we are going to be persecuted. Be encouraged my brother in Christ. God is with you. DO NOT GIVE UP & DO NOT GIVE IN to the enemy. You have the victory. GOD IS YOUR GUIDE……

    Pastor Mark, thank you for your daily posts! Please do not stop doing what you are doing, remember you are so special and called by Jesus to spread the Word. We all are. I had the same experience on FB a week or so ago and I just said to my friend ‘shame I hope that the seed I planted didn’t hurt too much’ Remember that you have now planted a seed and although they wrote negative stuff, THEY HAVE READ IT! Halaluya someone else will come along as Paul said and water that seed.

    I just read about this as I have finals going on in school as the fall semester closesand had not been on facebook or in my email much the last 2 weeks, I want to let you know that I had a comedian send me a freind request and I didn’t know who he was so I checked out his page and saw who and what he was and didn’t agree with his words so I let him know nicely that I was in disagreements with the language and content and also rebuked him nicely, I immediately started getting hate notes from his fans and they were quite graphic but I just said a prayer and clamed down and got a few prayer warriers on the roll as well and squashed it quickly they don’t deserve a response and God has already let us know that if we be still he’ll fight the battles, Pastor you just do what you were called to do, no more no less and God got you and he has surrounded you with soldiers who also has you covered. Just be still for the battle is not yours it’s the Lord’s.
