Good to be back!

October 20, 2010

Well it is good to be back posting on my blog! I have been busy working on my first book which is a collection of my sayings. Each saying has a supporting Bible verse and a short reflection. I have written about 60% of them and hope to finish the rest over the course of this week. Then I will design it and get it ready for publishing. Exciting stuff! Below is a sample for you to check out.

And the other big news is that my new Journey Deeper into God’s Word blog is just about complete! My hope is to launch it next week.

Well here is a sample from the book I am working on:

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

The challenge is to live life beyond what you think is capable to what God thinks you are capable of.

Without question God has massive plans for me, and my job is to find out what those plans are and get on with them! And I find that out by asking, what is my passion? What is it I love to do? Well I love to encourage people deeper into relationship with God. Now is my passion in line with the Bible? Well yes! So I need to get on with it, and that is exactly what I am doing. But even so, often I will tell myself that I am not worthy of such a call, or that I am not capable. These voices need to be ignored as they only get in the way of serving God.

God bless,

Mark Brown

    Welcome back!!!

Thank you for confirming something that I had been struggling with, when you said that at times you felt incapable of doing something. I know that I have to do that which has been a struggle for me to do and I know I will be able to, because my Heavenly Father is right here with me…When God calls us to do something, it’s because he either knows we can do it on our own or he will equip us if we can’t…

    God Bless!

Thank you so much for the post Mark! I am a recovering Drug addict and I received this scripture via mail and cards sent to me while incarcerated. God is so good to me!!! I have been clean for 3 years now and it’s all because of HIM!! Please be in prayer for me and the plan that I know he has for my life. Thank you, Cindy Craft

I have been struggeling with things on this line. I am trying to do home study for the conversion from LPN to RN. I am in the 6 month and only one class. I need to review and go take my test and move on to the next class, but I can not get into it. I was ready for the review and testing 2 1/2 months ago, but just can not get into it mentally anymore. I keep hearing God telling me to do it, but for some reason I am resisting it. Please pray for me.

  11. Mark, I completely understand that God has a plan for me and I know what that is. However, knowing how to do it is a whole different issue. I have helped people completely change their lives through my fitness program and believe with all my heart that is my calling. For me it goes beyond helping people just get fit…, but also building self confidence, to really believe in themselves and realizing who they can be and hopefully help them strengthen their spirit as well as their body. I’m in a place where I just don’t know how to expand my business and my frustration has been steadily building. Not helping matters is having someone very dear to me just up and quit on me. It’s all so overwhelming and I feel like I’m failing God. I’m in a place where I feel very alone and just don’t know what to do.

I invite you to read the beginning of the book of James. It has advice on how to deal with trials. I pray that God will give you His peace, which surpasses all understanding, in your time of frustration

      • Thanks to you for requesting this. I have started . Judy

When it seems God’s intentions for me are outsized by my abilities I remember this: So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to perservere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised–Hebrews 10.

Thanks to God for Mark Brown’s blog.
